How it works
Install the extension
Visit the Chrome Web Store and click "Add to Chrome". Takes about 5 seconds.
Chat with ChatGPT as usual
Go to chatgpt.com and have any conversation. The extension adds a clean button to every AI response.
Click the DeGPT button
Look for the orange DeGPT button next to ChatGPT's copy button. One click cleans the text and copies it to your clipboard.
Paste anywhere
Your cleaned text is ready. Paste it into email, Word, Slack, Notion — wherever you need it.
What the extension cleans
The extension uses the same powerful text pipeline as DeGPT, removing:
- AI filler phrases — "Sure!", "I hope this helps!", "Here's what you asked for..."
- Bold/italic asterisks — **text** and *text* become clean text
- Heading markers — ## Heading becomes just Heading
- Em-dashes and curly quotes — Converted to standard ASCII for compatibility
- Zero-width spaces — Hidden characters that cause paste issues
- Excessive whitespace — Normalized for clean output
Settings sync automatically
If you have a DeGPT account, your settings sync automatically between the web app and the Chrome extension.
- Set your preferred destination profile (Email, Word, Slack, etc.) in the web app
- The extension uses those same settings when you click to clean
- Custom terms you've added are applied automatically
No account required. The extension works without signing in — you just won't get synced settings.
